Founded by Alesia Sirokina in 2020, Square in Circle creates lighting designs that fuse geometric precision with the fluidity of movement. Influenced by dance - especially Oskar Schlemmer’s 1922 Bauhaus ballet - Sirokina’s work began with the signature ‘Dance of Geometry’ and continues to explore themes of symmetry, asymmetry, flatness, and depth. Using a minimal palette of shapes and materials, each piece feels both refined and dynamic, subtly shifting in relation to the viewer. Using two panels of dark bronze to create a simple ‘plus’ shape, the brutalist base is crowned with a large orb of frosted glass. A minimalist design in black and white, the Plus Table Lamp departs from the two- or three-tone designs that are typical to Square in Circle, for a more simple, graphic expression.
