Founded by Alesia Sirokina in 2020, Square in Circle creates lighting designs that fuse geometric precision with the fluidity of movement. Influenced by dance - especially Oskar Schlemmer’s 1922 Bauhaus ballet - Sirokina’s work began with the signature ‘Dance of Geometry’ and continues to explore themes of symmetry, asymmetry, flatness, and depth. Using a minimal palette of shapes and materials, each piece feels both refined and dynamic, subtly shifting in relation to the viewer. Inspired by the multiple, overlapping circular forms that are found in the poster design for the Bauhaus Art Exhibition in 1923, the Orb 2 combines globes and spheres - in solid green marble and glowing glass - with cylindrical forms and flat hemispheres, drawn in mid-air.
