Alicja Podgórska Birkner is a Polish-born sculptor and designer working primarily with stoneware, porcelain, terracotta, and marble. Known for her hand-built forms, she embraces the tactile, earthy qualities of clay, creating works that move between organic vitality and quiet restraint. Her sculptures invite a slower, more contemplative engagement, encouraging a meditative connection through both sight and touch. Educated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, she has lived and worked in Munich and Jachenau, Germany, since 1989, where the surrounding landscape continues to inform the grounded, elemental presence of her practice.
