Founded by Alesia Sirokina in 2020, Square in Circle creates lighting designs that fuse geometric precision with the fluidity of movement. Influenced by dance - especially Oskar Schlemmer’s 1922 Bauhaus ballet - Sirokina’s work began with the signature ‘Dance of Geometry’ and continues to explore themes of symmetry, asymmetry, flatness, and depth. Using a minimal palette of shapes and materials, each piece feels both refined and dynamic, subtly shifting in relation to the viewer. Much like bookends, the two metal triangles at the base of the lamp hug either side of a rectangular piece of marble. The intersecting shapes and materials stabilise the breadth and volume of the light shade above - a deep-dish circular form with frosted glass shades on its upper and lower faces.
