Marāu draws inspiration from Anatolia - a land of rich culture, art, and craftsmanship. Founded by artisans born and raised in this region, Marāu aims to revive the forgotten beauty of ancient Anatolian crafts and carry their legacy into the future. Each piece reflects centuries-old techniques - from silk weaving in Hatay to copperwork in Antep and stone carving in Mardin. Through every creation, Marāu shares the story of Anatolia’s cultural heritage, carrying its millennia-old artistry and values into the modern world. The pouf and side table were designed by Marāu, inspired by the hieroglyphs discovered during excavations. Their monumental forms are derived from the hieroglyphic symbol of Taru, the sky god who represented prosperity for the Hittite people.
