Elie Saab is a Lebanese designer who rose from humble beginnings in war-torn Lebanon to build a globally recognized fashion empire. Born in 1964 in Damour, he taught himself to sew at just nine years old, later opening his first Beirut atelier at 18, specializing in intricate bridal couture. Known for blending Middle Eastern embellishment with Western silhouettes, Saab gained international acclaim in the 1990s, eventually showing in Rome and Paris and becoming the first Arab member of leading fashion bodies. His designs have been worn by royalty and celebrities such as Queen Rania of Jordan, Halle Berry, and Beyoncé, cementing his reputation for elegance and craftsmanship.
