Phillip Piperides is an Australian sculptor born in Nicosia, Cyprus, whose lifelong engagement with clay began in early childhood. He trained privately with master sculptors and continued his studies in Greece and Italy, developing a strong foundation in traditional figurative sculpture and bronze casting. Awarded a Churchill Fellowship in 1989, he furthered his practice internationally before establishing his own foundry in Australia. His work is widely recognised for its technical excellence and expressive modelling, with major public and private commissions reflecting a deep commitment to the human form and sculptural craftsmanship.
