Yann Jallu, a distinguished cabinetmaker and Compagnon du Devoir, has dedicated his career to redefining contemporary cabinetmaking through a balance of technical mastery and innovation. In 2006, he co-founded Jallu Ébénistes with Sandra Scolnik-Jallu, a former New York-based painter whose critically acclaimed artistic background informs the studio’s creative direction. Together, they produce refined, bespoke furniture that reinterprets traditional craftsmanship - particularly Art Deco influences - through a modern lens. Renowned for their meticulous approach and exceptional finishes, the atelier combines ancestral techniques with experimentation, incorporating materials such as straw marquetry, gypsum, parchment, mica, pyrite, and horn to create works of distinctive elegance and material richness.
