Sasha Court was born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She studied math and engineering at Dalhousie University and spent two decades building a corporate career in tech before devoting herself fully to her ceramics practice. Working exclusively with stoneware, she hand builds each vessel using the coil technique from the ground up. Voluminous forms become her canvas as she experiments with glazes that celebrate colour, texture, and the imperfect beauty of the handmade. Her work is rooted in exploring the tension of opposites - the awe and ache, love and loss, beauty and sorrow that define our shared humanness. Sasha approaches her practice intuitively, inviting spiritual consciousness into each piece as part of a personal evolution toward freedom from ego. She has exhibited in the 1000 Vases show in Paris (September 2023) and most recently in a group show at Rhett Baruch Gallery in Los Angeles (May 2024).
