The organic, almost flowing folds of the ceramic “Dym” table evoke smoke trails suspended in the air. This transience - captured in stoneware clay fired at 1 240 °C - was seized by ceramic artist Aleksandra Went, who created for Perler Design a series of twenty unique table-sculptures. “The form is an attempt to lock in clay something as ephemeral as smoke,” Went notes. She signs each piece by hand with her name while treating it as a canvas: brushstrokes build a graphic rhythm, so the table tells not only a sculptural but also a painterly story. Although conceptually cohesive, the objects will differ from one another like fragments of the same ever-changing cloud.
