FRIEDEMANN BÜHLER IS A GERMAN STUDIO ARTIST BORN IN STUTTGART IN 1966 WHO HAS DEDICATED HIS CAREER TO EXPANDING THE EXPRESSIVE POTENTIAL OF WOOD AS A SCULPTURAL MEDIUM. HE BEGAN WORKING WITH WOOD IN 1996 AND ESTABLISHED HIS OWN STUDIO IN LANGENBURG IN 2002, WHERE HE CREATES EXQUISITE, HAND-CRAFTED VESSELS AND BOWLS THAT HIGHLIGHT THE NATURAL BEAUTY, TEXTURE, AND UNIQUE CHARACTER OF EACH TREE’S MATERIAL. HIS PROCESS COMBINES TRADITIONAL TURNING TECHNIQUES WITH PATIENT, INTUITIVE HANDWORK, RESULTING IN PIECES OF TIMELESS ELEGANCE THAT BALANCE DELICACY WITH EXPRESSIVE FORM.
