George Condo is a contemporary painter known for his grotesque, carnival-like figures with distorted features and fractured faces. Influenced by Pablo Picasso, Diego Velázquez, Henri Matisse, and Cy Twombly, his work blends abstraction with macabre portraiture, a style he calls “psychological cubism” and “artificial realism.” He began as an assistant to Andy Warhol and has since exhibited internationally, including at the Venice Biennale, with works now selling for millions at auction.
