The Okia Pendant explores the dialogue between ancient craft and contemporary design. Hand-forged from steel with interlocking patinated brass reflectors, each module is shaped and assembled by hand, revealing the marks of traditional smithing and metalworking. Inspired by the sophistication and material honesty of ancient Minoan objects, the design balances reductive form with expressive materiality. Derived from the ancient Greek word for shadow, Okia creates a dynamic interplay of light and shade, with recessed LED G9 sources casting a warm glow from waxed brass interiors. Produced in Canada, each pendant is individually crafted, celebrating the enduring connection between maker, material, and time.
