Founded by Alesia Sirokina in 2020, Square in Circle creates lighting designs that fuse geometric precision with the fluidity of movement. Influenced by dance - especially Oskar Schlemmer’s 1922 Bauhaus ballet - Sirokina’s work began with the signature ‘Dance of Geometry’ and continues to explore themes of symmetry, asymmetry, flatness, and depth. Using a minimal palette of shapes and materials, each piece feels both refined and dynamic, subtly shifting in relation to the viewer. Composed of straight lines and curved edges, the marble and metal elements are both complementary and contrasting; whilst similar in terms of proportion and profile, the metal seems solid and flat in comparison to the milky depths and organic marbling of the alabaster.
