Marāu draws inspiration from Anatolia - a land of rich culture, art, and craftsmanship. Founded by artisans born and raised in this region, Marāu aims to revive the forgotten beauty of ancient Anatolian crafts and carry their legacy into the future. Arinna, as the chief goddess of the Hittite pantheon, symbolises the sun and light. The Hittites revered Arinna as a figure representing both the rising sun and the source of light and life. Inspired by the goddess Arinna, we aimed to create a radiant effect around the light source by incorporating details that represent the sun’s rays. Since Arinna represents the sun, we chose circular and round forms for the lighting designs, using these forms vertically to symbolise the completeness and continuity of the sun, ensuring that the light spreads in all directions.
