Jacqueline Kaytar is a Croatian Australian artist based on Turrbal and Yuggera country, whose practice spans over two decades across textiles, objects and spatial design. Exploring the liminal space between art and design, her work often merges sculptural expression with function, particularly in lighting pieces that engage with form and illumination. Guided by alchemic experimentation, Kaytar works with natural materials such as flax, plant dyes, metal and beeswax, investigating transformation, material consciousness and the evolving life of objects. Her work invites sensory reflection, evoking memory, imperfection and a renewed sense of wonder. This solid metal piece is sand-cast by hand. The unique ripples and pitting in the material are to be celebrated for their individual beauty. Raw aluminium, brass and bronze will naturally develop a patina over time, adding to their inherent character. If desired, a high-quality metal polish can restore their original brightness and shine. 2024. AVAILABLE IN ALL STANDARD FINISHES WITH CUSTOM MATERIALS UPON REQUEST.
